COACHING STAFF

Chris Brister – Head Coach

Coach Brister is entering his 3rd year as Head Coach of the Cy-Falls Golden Eagles. He spent the previous 11 years at Cy-Falls, the last 8 as defensive Coordinator.  Prior to that, Coach Brister served as the Defensive Coordinator at Westside High School, and also was on the inaugural staff at Cypress Springs High School.

 

Coach Brister is married to Stacy Brister and has two daughters, Ellie (19) and Riley (15).  A graduate of Cy-Fair, Coach Brister graduated in 1996 from Texas A&M University with a degree in Kinesiology.

Allen Atteberry – Defensive Coordinator/Cornerbacks

Coach Atteberry is entering his 10th season at Cy Falls, his 23rd season overall.  He serves as the defensive coordinator and head boy's track & field coach.  Previous to Cy Falls, he had coaching stops at Shepherd, Westside, East Bernard, Tarkington, New Waverly, and Coldspring.

Coach Atteberry and his spouse, Elizabeth, share 3 children - Devin (24), Maycie (20), and Charlsie (14).  Coach Atteberry graduated from Blue Ridge High School, in Blue Ridge, TX, and received his Bachelor's Degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where he played football and ran track.

Richard Kitterman – Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line

Coach Kitterman is entering his 25th year as a Texas high school football coach.  He has spent the last 5 years at Cy-Falls, the last 3 as Offensive Coordinator.  Prior to that, Coach Kitterman served as the Offensive Coordinator / Offensive Line coach at Conroe Oak Ridge High School and also coached in Cy Fair ISD at Jersey Village High School.

 

Coach Kitterman is married to Kristi Kitterman and has two sons, Colby (24) and Jacob (19) who played for the Golden Eagles.  A graduate of Alvin High School, Coach Kitterman graduated in 1994 from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Masters in Kinesiology.

Royce Rodriguez - Quarterbacks

Coach Rodriguez is entering his second year as the Quarterbacks Coach at Cypress Falls. Prior to coaching at Cy-Falls, Coach Rodriguez was the WR & QB Coach at Lexington High School. He also spent one year at Edna High School, where he coached tight ends and outside linebackers.

James Miller – Defensive Line

Coach Miller is entering his 24th year at Cy Falls.  He is the defensive line coach.  During those 24 years he has also coached the inside linebackers and outside linebackers.  Coach Miller is also the assistant wrestling coach at Cy Falls.  Prior to coming to Cy Falls, Coach Miller coached at Labay Middle School for 5 years. He also coached 2 years in Guthrie, Oklahoma before moving to Texas in 1991.

Coach Miller has been married to his wife Jennifer for the last 28 years.  They have 2 children, Kaitrin (21), a 2016 graduate of Cy Falls and Conner(17) who is currently enrolled at Cy Falls.  Coach Miller graduated from Weatherford High School in Weatherford, Oklahoma.  He is a 1989 graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford

Chris Laird – Inside Linebackers

Coach Laird is entering his 8th year at Cypress Falls High School. He has spent the last 5 years as the Inside Linebackers Coach.   He is also the Head Baseball Coach.

 

Coach Laird is married to Becky Laird and has one daughter, Kinsley (4) and another child on the way. He graduated in 2010 from Lamar University with a degree in Mathematics. He is currently working on his Masters in Athletic Administration

Payton Faseler – Outside Linebackers

Payton Faseler is entering his 8th year as a Coach.  He is 27 years old.  This will be his 6th year at Cypress Falls. He spent two years at Bay City where he coached Defensive Backs and Wide Receivers.  He will be coaching Outside Linebackers at Falls.  

 

He is a graduate of Port Neches - Groves HS, and graduated from Lamar University with a degree in Kinesiology.  He played football and baseball at PN-G.  

 

He has been married for four years to Megan Faseler and has no kids yet.

Trampas Goodwin – Safeties

Coach Goodwin has been at Cy Falls for 8 years.  He started his coaching career at Sam Houston Middle school where he spent 6 years.  He then Coached at Tascosa High school in Amarillo Texas for 2 years. He then went home to his hometown of Tulia, where he coached for 3 years.  He then went to Temple High school where he served under Bryce Monsen and Bob McQueen as the Associate Head Coach.  He left Temple after 6 years, and came to Cy Falls in the spring of 2011 where he now serves as a Varsity Secondary Coach and Head Girl’s track coach.

 

Coach Goodwin has 5 children Ladadrea Goodwin (28), Terris Losoya Goodwin (27), Loryn Goodwin (25), TJ Goodwin (19) (QB for the UTEP football team), and Jayden Goodwin (17) (Safety and Receiver for the Cy Falls Varsity football team).

 

"Coaching is a reward in itself, but when you are able to coach not one, but both of your sons that is a blessing.  Cy Falls is a great place to work, because of the leadership that Mrs. Denton and Coach Brister provide, and all of the coaches that are changing lives every day."

Derek Logback – Wide Receivers

Coach Logback is entering his 17th year at Cy Falls where he coaches receivers and teaches Anatomy and Physiology.  Prior to that, he coached for 10 years at San Angelo Lake View.

 

He has been married to Michelle Logback for 28 years and has two sons, Hunter (26) who teaches and coaches at Cy Falls and Britton (23) who is a senior at SFA.  A graduate of Big Spring High School, Coach Logback graduated from Angelo State University with a degree in Kinesiology.

Andy Jones – Running Backs

Coach Jones is entering his 9th year coaching at Cy-Falls High School where he currently serves as the Running Backs coach.  Previously he has held positions as an offensive line/tight end assistant coach and freshman coach with Cy-Falls. 

 

Coach Jones has two daughters; Riley (8) and Shaeffer (4).  A former student of Cy-Falls, Coach Jones graduated from Texas A&M University in 2007 with a degree In Geography/Geoscience and a Master of Education in 2008.

Hunter Logback – Assistant Offensive Line

Coach Hunter Logback is entering his 4nd year as a football coach at Cypress Falls High School.  He is also a proud alumni of the Cypress Falls class of 2011. Coach Logback graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2015 with a major in kinesiology, and a minor in biology. Coach Logback's parents are Derek and Michelle Logback, and has a brother, Britton Logback. 

Jeremy Mayard – Assistant Inside Linebackers

Coach Mayard is entering his 4th year of coaching.  He has spent 4 years at Cy-Falls coaching freshman football and track.  Prior to that, Coach Mayard served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Cypress Falls High School.  Before coming to Cypress Falls, he worked at Cypress Woods High School as the Assistant Athletic Trainer.

Coach Mayard is married to Allie Mayard, has one daughter (Avery).  Coach Mayard graduated in 2013 from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor’s of Science with a concentration in Athletic Training.  Laissez le bon ton rouler & Geaux Tigers!

Chad Allen – Assistant Defensive Backs

Coach Allen is entering his 4th year as a Freshmen Defensive Back Coach for the Cy Falls Golden Eagles. Allen is a native of Coldspring, Tx, where he started as the quarterback for 3 years. Allen continued his collegiate career at Lamar University where he started at Defensive Back for 3 years for the Cardinals, receiving Second Team Honorable Mention, as well as Defensive Player of the Week honors. Allen went on to graduate with his Bachelors Degree in General Studies and Masters of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Lamar University.

Connor McHugh – Assistant Wide Receivers

Coach McHugh began his coaching career at Cy-Falls in 2016. He is an assistant wide receivers coach and works primarily at the freshman level, as well as teaching Pathophysiology and A&P.

 

Coach McHugh is married to his amazing wife Shawni McHugh and was blessed to have his first daughter, Parker McHugh, in the summer of 2018. Coach McHugh went to high school at Seven Lakes HS and graduated from Texas A&M with a Masters in Curriculum.
